Den unge gitarristen Joel Sundkvist, uppväxt i Boden och studerande vid musikhögskolan i Piteå, kunde knappast ha valt ett svårare stycke att framträda med som examensarbete, än denna konsert, där tekniken från allra första början sätts på svåra prov. De bemästrade Joel Sundkvist med stor ära, och en fascinerande komposition även i de rytmiskt komplicerade yttersatserna fick ett rättvist och hedervärt utförande.

Joel Sundkvist is a guitar player who has the chance to come out as one of the real great musicians of Sweden’s younger generation. His good technique and a wonderful profound sound together with the imagination of a deep musicality are the best base for a good future.
